Michael David Chapman was born in Sacramento, CA (August 24, 1957), and grew up at Lake Tahoe. In 1975 as an Eagle Scout, he attended the World Jamboree in Osleo, Norway and spent 3 months traveling 17 countries, celebrating his 18th birthday in East Berlin. He graduated from High School in 1976, and went on to attend NNC from 1976-1978.

Michael married Gwendolyn Diane Trotter from Colorado on June 24, 1977. This was a good thing.

They have two boys - Joseph Leigh and Jonathan Marc, and two daughter-in laws - Bekah Kunz (Madison, Wisconsin) and Kathy Chapman (Hille, Germany). They also have one grandson - Jonathan Gregory.

Mike continued his education in welding of structural steel and pipe, then spent 25 years in residential and commercial construction in Colorado and Alaska.

In 1999, for some months, district office and team member house in Fiji, prior to joining our team inPapua New Guinea in December, 2007.

At present God is using the talents He has given Mike to meet a variety of needs both at the campus of the Melanesian Nazarene Bible College and the Kudjip Nazarene Hospital station.

Gwendolyn Diane Trotter Chapman was born in La Junta, CO (July 4, 1957), and grew up on a Colorado cattle ranch north of Sugar City. In 1973, she traveled to Europe with the Denver Symphony Band and Choir (clarinet). She graduated from High School in 1975 and attended NNC 1975-1979. Diane has a BA in Vocational Home Economics Education 8-12.

In 1977 she took a European Crusader Choir Trip and in 1992 she recieved her NNC Elementary Education Certificate K-8. Diane taught school in Arriba and Kiowa, CO for 4 years (music, home economics, volleyball). In Klawock, AK Tlinget Native Village, she spent 10 years teaching. In 2006, she was Alaska Family and Consumer Science Teacher of the Year. In 2007, she was Alaska ProStart Teacher of the Year, the ProStart team won first place and traveled to North Carolina.

At present she is teaching grades 1-7 at our school for the children of our team members at Kudjip Nazarene Mission Station.
